Disclosure and Review of Documents
RWM has been supplying services to the legal profession since its incorporation in 1994. Our experience covers criminal and civil cases and we have been involved at all stages from sorting seized material through to providing images for court room display.
Whilst it is a fact that vast savings can be made at the investigative stage by scanning and using software to search and sort a disorganised collection of paperwork into a logical orderly bundle, it is unfortunately true that many case teams are unwilling to invest in this at the beginning of the case.
However, disclosure when it inevitably comes along certainly does seem to make the case teams question whether there is a better way to proceed. The problems of producing several copies by an ever approaching deadline is often the catalyst that prompts clients to contact us.
The savings can be dramatic, with multiple defendants or various experts needing copies, savings of 75% when compared with photocopying are not unusual. It is a fact that scanning costs are often totally recovered at the disclosure stage by the saving made.
In our experience, disclosure on CD is always welcomed by the various parties as an alternative to boxes of lever arch files. CDs that contain files in PDF format or with our software enclosed are particularly convenient and can be accessed by any PC.
Another option to be considered is the disclosing or the review of documents online. RWM can produce a Disclosure Suite for you, using your logos and colour scheme, where appropriately authorised parties can access documents within previously defined criteria. The security of our site uses the same systems that banks and building societies use and has been penetration tested by a third party. The site uses THAWTE security and encryption for additional security. The client site supervisor can define access levels and a full audit trail is maintained.
With claims and investigations typically covering many different countries and time zones, the ability to access all documentation at anytime and anywhere is all too obvious.
Our experience in this area :
- Approx 20 million pages of criminal and civil cases scanned
- Major public enquiries scanned and our investigative software used
- Current contracts with several government agencies
- All staff cleared to SC level allowing access to Secret material
- Premises vetted by several government agencies
